Annie & Sam’s beautiful Wedding at Barns & Yard this June was such a treat to work on!

Annie & Sam were fully entrusting of my creative flair and allowed me to create using all the seasonal beauty that the month of June can bring. We kept the palette tight- working with soft shades of pink, creams and sage green. Annie’s brief was a soft, romantic English Garden… well, who can resist Peonies at this time of year, not to mention the first of the Sweet Peas, Garden Roses and Foxglove spires! Yes please !

Annie & Sam commissioned me to create all their Bridal Party items, Bud vases and Ceremony florals (which IMO were the highlight and stand out items). Why? Well… the ceremony is such a focus of the day – it should be beautiful and a lovely reflection of the couple’s love for each other.

I’m a huge fan of meadows- they’re so versatile and this set up worked particularly well. Two large meadows to mark the start of the aisle- followed by two more at the end of the aisle. These then complimented and drew the eye to the two statement urns. Wonderfully, my use of Oak in the urns was a total hit as the family’s garden is surrounded by them, so that felt poignant and significant to them all; what a lovely touch.

Annie’s Bridal Bouquet was a soft traverse shape filled with seasonal June florals.

To offset against Annie’s Bouquet, I created more classic Handtied Bouquets- these are rounder in shape with spiral stems.

Just look at some of the ROSES I used below – both scented and as ruffled as a Ballerina’s tutu. On the left is Emily Bronte – a David Austin Rose and on the right is Sweet Honey. On first sight she looked quite orangey but she fades into the most delightful shade of soft pink !

Reuse & Repurpose

All the Ceremony Florals here were moved post ceremony to be enjoyed again and again throughout the day.

The urns were moved to either side of the Top Table, Bud vases surrounded the cake and Meadows placed on the floor in front of the top table.

Lisi, the owner of B&Y was thrilled with the florals too and commented how full the Barns felt after the ceremony. opting for items like these is a great investment as they can be enjoyed over & over.

” Hannah You’ve blown me out of the water!

I knew I could trust you
–  Thank you –
my bouquet is utterly gorgeous ”
