Dreaming of an Italian Summer Wedding?
Nestled away in the Gloucestershire countryside is a gem of a venue- Pauntley Court. You could be forgiven for thinking you were in Tuscany though, as the back drop of the house and stunning ornamental gardens conjure up scenes reminiscent of an Italian Summer Wedding. It seems you can have a Slice of Italy right here in the UK after all!
I met with Melissa, the owner of Pauntley Court a few weeks prior to the Photoshoot which was a treat in itself ! Melissa has ALL the zest & enthusiasm to rival any Olympian and her infectious energy brought this shoot to life; from the soft lemon colour palette to the commissioning of a Bespoke Outdoor Bar. Honestly, if you’re considering a Pauntley Court Weddin, dream for a slice of Italy on your Wedding Day, then you are in for a treat; as I can’t recommend Melissa and the team enough! With bundles of enthusiasm, an eye for detail, warmth & care, you will certainly be well looked after and in the most stunning surroundings too!
Drawing on the romance of Italy, Melissa and I were drawn toward a soft lemon palette- incorporating open faced flowers in shades of white, cream and light buttery yellows. It felt important to utilise the oh so wonderful Flower Hub at Pauntley; coordinated by the amazing Jules who organises & liaises with several local Flower growers who supply the Hub. The Hub, is in fact, just on the doorstep to PC, so it made absolute sense to use them- after all- the flowers are all seasonal and locally grown. Just how I like them!
I worked closely with Jules to select flowers that could deliver a romantic and high end feel… it felt important to go flower heavy for the tablescape- utilising Orlaya, Ammi, Calendula, Pom Pom Dahlias, Hydrangea, Scabious and Hypericum to name a few. For the Arch I used a base of Beech with escaping Jasmine tendrils, layering in bundles of Tall Ammi alongside Roses & Sweet Peas. I avoided using anything too linear here as wanted to create a very frothy and abundant look which I think I managed.
