One year ago in July, I had the pleasure of creating the Wedding Flowers for V&J at Elmore Court.
Elmore Court is a historic stately home with views over the Cotswolds and River Severn and this was my first time flowering up a Wedding there. The house itself is just beautiful, The Gillyflower modern and the EC team are just great to work with so can highly recommend you take a look if you’re on the hunt for a Gloucestershire Wedding Venue!
So… flower wise- where to start!? V&J wanted a relaxed floral look, almost a meadow style but not with a matching bright colour palette. As per my previous blog post, muted or pastel brights are much more popular now. Think tones of pinks, purples and oranges as they work beautifully together and create contrast which is easier on the eye to process.
I worked with Dahlias, Snapdragons, Calendula, Cornflowers, Cosmos, Clematis Tendrils, Phalycia, Geums, Grasses, Canterbury Bells to name a few. All British and locally grown flowers in July.
Elmore Court Wedding Flowers
Aside from the Bridal party flowers of Bouquets and Buttonholes, V&J opted for an Entrance Column to great their guests, Aisle Meadows, Ceremony Table Decor ad Bud Vases for their Wedding Breakfast in The Gillyflower.
The Entrance Column was no mean feat as the weather gods were against us and try as we might, the wind made it really difficult to design properly. However I am forever grateful to The Curries for capturing the Floral Installation whilst the wind had dropped! I think it turned out pretty well all things considering!
In addition to the Install, the aisle flowers for the Ceremony worked brilliantly in The Gillyflower at the ends of tables and around the Cake Table (my fave), whilst simple bud vase/ bottles adorned the elegantly styled tables by Rachel at Salt & Scent.
